Manny Pacquiao banned from the Grove

21 Mar - Professional boxer-turned-Philippine politician Manny Pacquiao has been banned from entering Los Angeles' shopping mall The Grove yet again for his previous homophobic remarks.

As reported on PEP News, the mall's owner Rick Caruso announced the decision recently, saying that a lot of people from the gay community are frequent visitors of the mall, and have the right to feel uncomfortable.

"[Therefore], Manny Pacquiao is no longer welcome," he said.

Last month, the boxer angered the LGBT community and its supporters over his statement that gay people are worse than animals. Although he later apologised, it seemed that the damage has already been done.

But this isn't the first time Pacquiao was banned from The Grove. Back in 2012, he was banned from the mall for quoting the Leviticus passage that says homosexuals should be put to death.

Caruso stated, "Based on news reports of statements made by Mr. Pacquiao, we have made it be known that he is not welcome at The Grove and will not be interviewed here now or in the future.

The Grove is a gathering place for all Angelenos and not a place for intolerance."

    Absurd.
Pacquiao is a boxer. Who cares what his thoughts are on gays or religion?
We are banning people now based on their opinions?
The left in this country is looking more and more like the totalitarian regimes they purport to disdain...people are allowed to their own thoughts, beliefs and speech - even if it is reprehensible.
The AG was on TV the other night actually considering some sort of criminal action against people who don't buy the global warming theory!
Agitating brownshirts deliberately instigating violence at political rallies.
Now a man banned from a public place because of his opinions...
Take a deep breath, tyou so-called progressives - there is nothing 'progressive' about stifling other peoples opinions.

Isn't this illegal discrimination?? The Grove is a public place that anyone can visit and not a private club that can enforce rules for admittance. Even if The Grove was a private club, this still, technically, would qualify as illegal discrimination due to the fact he is banned for his personal religious views and freedom of speech being trampled. Gay couples sue and win for these type of discriminatory situations all the time, like the gay couple that sued and won for discrimination when a bakery in Colorado wouldn't make the couple's wedding cake based off it conflicting with their religious views. Even if you don't agree with Manny's words, you have to agree everyone has the right to their own views, no matter how distasteful they may be, and has the right to be allowed to attend public places. Manny should sue Caruso for $100 million for illegal discrimination.

Let me get this straight the gay community sues a baker who refuses to provide them a cake becauae they wern't welcome but the gay community thinks they can ban someone from a shopping mall because of something he said? The gay people need to just get over it, nobody cares and your aren't a protected class.

Why is it when someone who is in alignment to what the Bible states is clearly wrong relating to being homosexual ? How is that the person is homophobic! So basically people are saying if your faith and your belief is against homosexuality then all the sudden you are the bad guy! I think Manny Pacquiao is standing up for his beliefs! Maybe there was a better way for him to express his views?

Where did he even make the comments? I thought it was in the Philippines not at this mall in L.A.. He gets banned for something he said across the Pacific Ocean. Seems unlawful and like this is just a attack against the Christian religion that is suppose to be protected by law here in the United States. If a gay person that goes to this mall said something bad about Christians would they be banned from this mall? I don't think so. Caruso is fake with his Grove intolerance.

I don't shop at The Grove too much, but I'm boycotting The Grove and will take my money elsewhere. This is not to say I am in total agreement with Manny Pacquiao, but if the tables were reversed, and the LGBT community was banned from entering a business entity, there would be a public outcry and litigation would ensue. This world has become too polarized.

The Grove is no olace fir intolerance unless you state your opinion that doesnt agree with thiers. In which we become intolerant of your opinion. Then we will ban you because we hate you because you have an opinion that differs from ours.
