The Ondo State Commissioner of Police, Mrs. Hilda Ibifuro-Harrison, has called a meeting of all area commanders within her command to deliberate on how to map out the modalities for the immediate payment of electricity bills by residents of police barracks in the state.
Ibifuro-Harrison said the change mantra of the ruling All Progressives Congress must begin from every individual, adding that the police must not be found wanting.

This was contained in a statement on Sunday by the Chief Corporate Services Officer,  BEDC, Mrs. Kunbi Labiyi. The police boss said this during a courtesy visit by the Chief State Head of Benin Electricity Distribution Plc, Ondo/Ekiti states, Mr. Ernest Edgar, in Akure.
In his remarks, Edgar stated that the police headquarters had been duly advised on the payments of bills for police stations and offices.
Edgar commended the police for the timely arraignment and conviction of two vandals by the Odigbo Magistrate’s Court.
He also lauded the police commissioner for her exemplary and professional disposition while asserting that such patriotic leadership was needed in the country at this crucial time.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday last week, BEDC honoured the Odigbo community in Ondo State for demonstrating awareness and responsibility in the apprehension of electricity equipment vandals in the town.
Speaking at the reception held at the palace of the Odigbo, Head of Agents and Channels Development, BEDC, Mrs. Felicia Nlemoha, said since the police and other law enforcement agencies could not be everywhere, the communities should rise to the task of protecting electricity installations in their areas.
On the low power generation to the grid which had limited the capacity of the BEDC to distribute electricity based on demand, Nlemoha urged residents of Odigbo community to take advantage of the BEDC’s payment channels to pay their bills and help improve the power sector.
The traditional ruler of Odigbo community, Oba Olugboyega Akinrinmade, said despite the fact that the vandals were from his community, he insisted that justice must prevail to serve as a deterrent to others and also to preserve his integrity.
