How to Book an American Airlines Business Class Seat For the Price of Economy

How to Book an American Airlines Business Class Seat For the Price of Economy
You have to know what to look for.
The best things in life are worth a lot more than what you pay for them.
According to The Points Guy, with some planning its possible to get an American Airlinesbusiness class seat for the price of one in economy.
When the airline has scheduling issues, sometimes it will send planes configured for international flights on domestic routes. These international planes are usually set up with three different classes (first, business and economy) while the domestic planes are set up with only two (business and economy).

So, in order to make the domestic configuration work, the airline will usher the business class seats into economy class. But in order to jump on the deal, you have to know what to look for. And its still pretty rare.
Starting October 8, American Airlines will fly a Boeing 777-300ER (configured for international flight) between New York and Miami.
Onboard those few flights, the eight-seat first class configuration will remain a first class offering. But the 52 business seats are being sold as economy. For the same price as the cheap seats in the back (starting at $133), 52 lucky passengers will be able to experience lie-flat seats, power outlets and a larger screen for in-flight entertainment.
Although those who dont have loyalty status with the airline will have to pay an additional $37 Main Cabin Extra fee.
These special flights will only be on Saturdays and Sundays in October and then only on Sundays through November. After that, its back to reality.
