Jack Ma Is Just Partly Right About U.S. Job Losses To China

The suggestion that China 'steals' jobs from the U.S. has a long pedigree, but has only recently become the official position of the U.S. Government. Peter Navarro, Director of the newly established National Trade Council, is no stranger to this sort of undiplomatic language. Equally Robert Lighthizer, Trump's nominated Trade Representative has long campaigned for much more aggressive efforts against China's non-compliance with its WTO accession agreement (read his June 2010 Testimony Before the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission here). Lastly, Wilbur Ross, nominated Commerce Secretary, recently called China the 'most protectionist country.' Sure enough, there is no shortage
