The Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) yesterday said it would no longer participate in any further hearings organized by the  judicial commission of inquiry.
It also stated that it would consult and direct its lawyers on the next course of action.
Meanwhile, the commission has adjourned sitting to March7, 2016 for continuation of proceedings.
The adjournment was sequel to the inability of the counsel to the IMN to see the leader of the Shi’ite group, Shiekh Ibraheem El-Zakzaky to get briefings from him.
It would be recalled that the judicial panel since it started sitting in February, 22, 2016 had adjourned it’s sitting three  times on the same account.
The commission had at its inaugural sitting on Monday February 22, 2016 adjourned till Wednesday February 24, 2016 for continuation of proceedings following the absence of the lawyer to the Movement.
However, when the lawyer to the movement, Mr. Maxwel Kyon appeared  before the commission on Wednesday, he said, he was unable to get access to his client and requested for two weeks adjournment to enable him get access and briefing from his client.
But the chairman of the commission, Justice Muhammadu Lawal Garba adjourned the sitting till yesterday.
It would also be recalled that various lawyers appeared before the commission to represent the Nigerian Army, the Supreme Council for Shari’a in Nigeria, Jama’atu Nasril Islam, the Gyellesu /Sabon-Gari, Zaria communities and some interested groups from Sokoto. However, the IMN was not represented during the inaugural sitting.
Meanwhile, the commission has so far received more than two hundred memoranda from various organizations, including security agencies, traditional/religious institutions and individuals.
